Quick Book Recommendations!
Are you trying to decide what to read next? I know I am!
We all have plenty of books on our list to read, but just don't know where to start! While I was figuring out what to read next, I found myself reminiscing on books that I read this passed year and thought I would make a list of books I enjoyed the most to help those of you who are stuck in a rut!
Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices) – Cassandra Clare (YA)The 3rd installment of The Infernal Devices (Prequel to The Mortal Instruments)
Oh. My. GOSH! This book! If you ever want to read a book that will dramatically rip your heart out, but couldn’t help but love it at the same time… THIS is the book for you. Of course you’ll have to read the first two – Clockwork Angel and Clockwork Prince – but you will not regret it (and if you do… you have some serious issues). I became so emotionally attached to these characters, I began hyperventilating at some key points in this book. For those of you in this fandom… you know what part I’m talking about! Wah!

Reckless (Thoughtless) – S.C. Stephens (NA)
Another one of my all time favorite reads of 2013, would have to be the Thoughtless trilogy. (You can read my review here and character spotlight of Kellan here!) This was yet, another trilogy that I absolutely could NOT put down. I mean, I was literally reading these books at stoplights and during work… I LOVED the story line because it was something you could possibly relate to (if you’re lucky enough). That, and the fact I became completely obsessed with the male lead, Kellan freaking Kyle! If there was one book boyfriend of mine that I wished were 100% real… Kellan would be him, folks!

Origin (The Lux Series) – Jennifer L. Armentrout (YA/Paranormal)LOVE LOVE LOVE The Lux Series!!! I’ve had this series on my ‘to-read’ list on Goodreads for awhile and I’m not sure why the heck I waited so long. I was pretty iffy about starting this series because I’m not a huge fan of anything to do with aliens… but my goodness. If all aliens were Daemon Black… welcome to earth! Mi casa, es tu casa! Daemon Black seems like your typical asshole at first, but figuring him out is the fun part. I also loved Katy! She’s sassy, AND a book blogger! As for Origin, the ending was absolutely unexpected! The next book, Opposition, doesn’t even come out until this summer… I’m not sure how I’m going to survive until then! (You can read my full review here and Amber’s character spotlight on Daemon, here!)
Allegiant (Divergent) – Veronica Roth (Dystopian/YA)Oh man, oh man. While this book wasn’t exactly my favorite in the Divergent trilogy, this book is definitely a great read. A few words to describe this book? Torturous. Death. Sorrow. Depression. FEELS – I don’t think I should go on! Veronica Roth wrote possibly the BIGGEST risk I have ever seen anyone take. I, myself, was mad at the turn that this book took 3/4 of the way through… but I can definitely see why Roth chose the path she did (kind of). Definitely a crazy ending to the Divergent trilogy.
The Fiery Heart (Bloodlines) – Richelle Mead (YA)My love for the Bloodlines series is endless. After reading Vampire Academy, I just couldn’t get enough! That, and I wanted to read more about Mr. Adrian Ivashkov himself. Richelle tackles some real life situations that not a lot of authors are willing to take the risk at. This book was probably lacking until halfway through, though I think it’s because we got to dig a little deeper into the feels of Sydrian (Adrian and Sydney – no spoilers!) The last half of this book was full of action and suspense! I had a feeling that something bad was going to happen, and boy was I right. Good thing Richelle has a few more books to write in order to fix this mess! (You can read my review on the series here!)
Down London Road (On Dublin Street) – Samantha Young (NA)This book was highly addicting! Seeing as I finished this book in one sitting, it was a very easy read! This is definitely a book for adults. There’s a lot HOT and passionate scenes in this book. They aren’t your average ‘love story and everything and everyone is perfect’ kind of characters. They both have a lot of real life issues to over come, and it was great being able to see how much these characters grow in just one book. I really recommend this book for those of you trying to get over a book hangover!
