Review: Flawed Perfection

'Flawed Perfection' is the first novel in the New Adult 'Beautifully Flawed' series. While this book is labeled 'New Adult' I think it's suitable for readers of high school age - no crazy sex scenes, just some more mature subject matter.
Flawed Perfection follows a girl named River who's grown up around the Beckerson brothers for as long as she can remember. While one has always been the guy she knew in her heart, she wanted to marry - and the other, has been the best friend she could ever ask for. Sounds great right? Well, I think it's what every girl hopes for. A guy she can love, and a guy she can LOVE, you know? Unfortunately, life is never that easy (and if it is I am incredibly jealous of you). River has to learn to not only express herself, and be brave enough to share her feelings, but she has to do it twice. She has to express her feelings out loud to not one, but two people who are constants in her life. Needless to say, that doesn't always end well.
I think this is a beautiful book and really pulls you in from the very beginning. 'Flawed Perfection' shows us that in every flaw, there is perfection - for everyone. No two people are the same, and perfection is about preference. The book touches on tough subjects like unrequited love and family not always being what it's supposed to be. But, it also shows that family isn't always the people who share your blood - sometimes it's the people that don't share blood that mean the most to you.
I hope you'll take the time to pick up this book and give it a read, I think you'll be pretty happy you did...but please let me know who you prefer: Adam, the sexy teacher/bad boy musician, or Bobby, the studly, charismatic, hockey player? I'm going with the bad boy. You know I can't ever deny them when they have tattoos and say all the right things!

Cassandra doesn't remember a time when she wasn't writing.
