Blog Tour Stop: Let Me Know by Stina Lindenblatt: A Playlist + Giveaway
We think music and books go hand in hand here at Grownupfangirl/OhTheBookFeels, so we absolutely love spotlighting playlists for books! Today's playlist comes from author Stina Lindenblatt for her recent release: LET ME KNOW.
A little about the book...
Let Me Know Synopsis:
This shouldn't be happening again…
Amber Scott thought her screaming nightmares would end now that her stalker is locked up and awaiting trial. But they return when her slam-dunk case starts to fall apart. Explicit letters she allegedly wrote surface, suggesting she was the mastermind behind her assault, a willing victim.
Amber only feels safe in the arms of her boyfriend Marcus, the one person she can lean on. Until damning evidence from Marcus's past collides with the case and the media circus drags them both down. To protect Amber's reputation, Marcus has only one option: end their relationship. He won't risk further damage to her case, even if it means breaking her heart.
Amber has to find the strength to step into the spotlight and bring awareness to victims' rights before she's convicted in the court of public opinion. And she's really not sure what's worse—that her kidnapper could walk free, or that the seemingly endless attention and speculation will drive Marcus away permanently…
See how it all began for Amber and Marcus in Tell Me When.

Playlist
for Let Me Know
I don’t
listen to music when I write. I’m easily distracted due to my ADD. But when I
was asked to write the playlist for Let
Me know, I couldn’t wait to research the perfect songs that best
represented the emotion and themes behind the story.
The list
includes Bon Jovi because the band is one of Amber and Marcus’s favorites. The
songs are listed in the order that best represents the book. Click on the
titles for the YouTube videos (or appropriate concert footage). Enjoy!
You Give Love A Bad Name by Bon Jovi
This song
relates to the stalker who kidnapped Amber prior to the first book in the Lost in You series (Tell Me When). He claimed to love Amber. The lines in the first
verse best explain what she went through:
“You
promise me heaven then put me through hell. Chains of love got a hold on me.
When passion's a prison you can't break free.”
When passion's a prison you can't break free.”
Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill
You) by Kelly
Clarkson
If there is ever a song that best describes Amber after
everything she’s gone through, it would be this one, and especially the line
“What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.”
Dark
Side by Kelly Clarkson
Both Marcus and Amber are still battling their inner demons
(as revealed in Tell Me When). This
song shows perfectly how both feel regarding each other.
“There's a place that I know
It's not pretty there and few have ever gone
If I show it to you now
Will it make you run away
Or will you stay
Even if it hurts
Even if I try to push you out
Will you return?
And remind me who I really am
Please remind me who I really am
Everybody's got a dark side
Do you love me?
Can you love mine?...”
It's not pretty there and few have ever gone
If I show it to you now
Will it make you run away
Or will you stay
Even if it hurts
Even if I try to push you out
Will you return?
And remind me who I really am
Please remind me who I really am
Everybody's got a dark side
Do you love me?
Can you love mine?...”
Mr. Know It All by Kelly
Clarkson
After news
of explicit letters that Amber allegedly wrote to her stalker gain media
attention, this song best describes how she feels about the aftermath and the
consequences.
Part of Me by Katy Perry
This song
goes a long way in explaining how Amber feels at times, but the following line
is almost her motto in some scenes when it comes to what the stalker did to her
and how the media is treating her: “This is the part of me that you’re
never gonna ever take away from me.”
It
Will Rain by Bruno Mars
This line says a lot: “I'll never be your mother's favorite.”
Always by Bon Jovi
This song
is how Marcus feels about Amber, even when he has to walk away from their
relationship in order to protect her.
In These Arms by Bon Jovi
This also describes how Marcus feels when he has to walk
away from his and Amber’s relationship: “I would give anything, my blood, my
love, my life, if you were in these arms tonight.”
Unconditionally by Katy Perry
The entire song fits Let
Me Know, especially after Amber finds out about the damning evidence regarding
Marcus that could put the case against the stalker in jeopardy, but the
following lyrics describe the book perfectly:
“Come just as you are to me
Don't need apologies
Know that you are worthy
I'll take your bad days with your good
Walk through the storm I would
I do it all because I love you, I love you”
Don't need apologies
Know that you are worthy
I'll take your bad days with your good
Walk through the storm I would
I do it all because I love you, I love you”
What song(s)
best represent your life?

I love that you made a playlist for the book. <3
ReplyDeleteThanks, Grown Up Fangirl, for having me on your blog.
ReplyDeleteVivacioushobo, it was a lot of fun making the list, but I did spend about 8 hours on it because I loved watching the videos again and again and again. Not to mention I had to "research" all that Bon Jovi concert footage. lol
