OwlCrate Book Box Review
This is going to be a bit different review than I normally post. I received my first OwlCrate back in November and I thought it would be fun to talk about the contents on here!
The book that was chosen for the November box was Heartless by Marissa Meyer. This was one of my most anticipated reads of the year so when I saw the words "Exclusive Cover" I immediately hit PURCHASE. I was definitely not disappointed when my box finally arrived. The white cover was absolutely stunning and I'm so happy to have it. Heartless is an Alice in Wonderland retelling/prequel. Marissa dives into a fantastic story of why the Queen of Hearts became who we know in Alice's story. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend you pick it up if you haven't already!
Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland and a favorite of the unmarried King, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, she wants to open a shop and create delectable pastries. But for her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for a woman who could be a queen.
At a royal ball where Cath is expected to receive the King’s marriage proposal, she meets handsome and mysterious Jest. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the King and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into a secret courtship.
Cath is determined to choose her own destiny. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.

Metal Bookmark: Authoredadornments created an adorable metal bookmarks with book pages. The embellishment had the "curiouser and curiouser" quote from the original Alice in Wonderland story. This book mark is so cool. I have been eyeing the stuff in Julie's shop for years and am so excited to finally have something from her. If you don't know who she or her shop is, make sure to click the links to her Instagram and Etsy pages!
Exclusive copy of AIW: Speaking of the original story of Alice in Wonderland. The November OwlCrate was actually a double book month. They had an exclusive copy of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland printed from Rock Paper Books with a cover design by Risa Rodel! Funny story, this is actually my first copy of this story. I was thrilled that this was included.
Wonderland Elixir Tea and Tin: As most of us know there is a the character The Mad Hatter in Alice and Wonderland with the tea party. Well tea plays a big role in this retelling as well so of course OwlCrate had to include some kind of tea. They had an exclusive blend of tea and tin made by Riddle's Tea Shoppe (can be found on Etsy and Instagram). The tea was delicious and the tin is gorgeous! A++ on this item.
Magnet: Last but definitely not least, there was a magnet created by the crazy talented Evie Bookish. Evie creates unique and stunning art which can be found in her Society6 shop. Again this is another shop where I have been eyeing the merchandise for years and am really happy to finally have a piece by them. The Alice magnet that she created for this box is bright and beautiful. (You can see it pictured here with my Christmas countdown magnets lol).
I hope that this review and item spotlight helped anyone who may be unsure on whether to make the plunge! I was on the fence about purchasing a box where I didn't know what book I was getting. If you've been on the fence about signing up for their monthly auto-renewing program, there is always the "gift" option that works as a one-time purchase instead of automatically renewing. Overall I was really impressed with this subscription box and I would love to purchase more in the future. I may have just picked up the Feb box which looks pretty amazing! I think I have a guess on what book it is and if I'm right, it's one of my top reads of the year. It was perfection. This box is available for purchase now. I will leave the information below in case anyone is interested.

Limited Edition Cover: For the first time ever OwlCrate included an exclusive hardcover edition of the book. As I mentioned before this was a huge draw for me. I lalalalooooove the cover that was included. Not only is the color scheme different but the texture on the dust jacket is amazing. (See above for my mini "review" of Heartless and the synopsis)
