Review: RIVETED by Jay Crownover
Title: Riveted
Author: Jay Crownover
Genre: New Adult
Release Date: February 14th, 2017
Everyone else in Dixie Carmichael’s life has made falling in love look easy, and now she is ready for her own chance at some of that happily ever after. Which means she’s done pining for the moody, silent former soldier who works with her at the bar that’s become her home away from home. Nope. No more chasing the hot as heck thundercloud of a man and no more waiting for Mr. Right to find her; she’s going hunting for him...even if she knows her heart is stuck on its stupid infatuation with Dash Churchill.
Denver has always been just a pit stop for Church on his way back to rural Mississippi. It was supposed to be simple, uneventful, but nothing could have prepared him for the bubbly, bouncy redhead with doe eyes and endless curves. Now he knows it’s time to get out of Denver, fast. For a man used to living in the shadows, the idea of spending his days in the sun is nothing short of terrifying.
When Dixie and Church find themselves caught up in a homecoming overshadowed with lies and danger, Dixie realizes that while falling in love is easy, loving takes a whole lot more work…especially when Mr. Right thinks he’s all wrong for you.

"I waited and waited as good men fell for even better woman, all the while wondering when it would be my turn."
Ahh...where do I begin with everything that is Riveted?! Jay Crownover never ceases to amaze me with her amazing ability to tell a story and draw you in so much that you never want the story to end. And that was definitely the case with this book. You may never want it to end...but you will never be able to set it down.
Riveted is the third book in the Saints of Denver series and follows the story of Dixie and Church. These two characters are so different from each other it's like night and day. Dixie is very much an optimist. She likes to think about all the positive things in life and is always smiling. She's a happy person that is just waiting for her chance in love. (Aren't we all?...sigh)
"Never claimed to be the kind of guy that plays fair, pretty girl."
Church is anything but the perfect man for Dixie. Though he can't stop himself from looking at her and waiting her. I men...he is a man after all. He knows he totally isn't the man for Dixie. She's sweet, petite but curvy, so soft, and everything that is perfect in the world.
But they both can't stop the attraction to each other. It's undeniable but they push it off because they know it will never work. He's too serious and intense and is too afraid he will taint her. He can never give her anything more than what he offers all the other ladies.
"I never wanted to let anyone else in, but every time I give you another piece of the past I feel you there...all the way in."
Soon though Church finds that he needs a favor from Dixie and kind of a big favor. And he knows she will never say no because she's too sweet. But will she help him out even though she's sweet or will she tell him no because the temptation of being around him is too much?
"I was like a starving person that was offered a cupcake. I wanted to lick all the frosting off and shove the rest of all the deviousness in my mouth with both hands."
They are two unlikely pairing that finds themselves desperately needing each other. And I was addicted to each page. These characters will suck you right in and keep you riveted until the very end.
