Nothing Kennedy Ryan ever writes disappoints. Her writing is flawless and absolutely stunning. I don't know how she always writes such a flawless story but she does time and time again. I would read her notes or grocery list, frankly. She is one of the best at what she does. Going into her books, I never need to know what they are about, just that they are written by her.

This book is beautiful. Simply. Beautiful. Long Shot follows the story of Iris and August. Iris is a ballers girl but the life that she thought she was diving into is anything but. All she gets is pain and heartache in this NBA world. But things start to look up when she meets August West, though she knows she will never have him...he's everything she's always wanted. Though Iris knows what it's like to kiss the prince and have him turn into a frog.

August loves basketball, it's always been his whole life. His dream to get into the NBA and now he finally has it. August got a massive deal and is playing ball with the big kids. But once he sees her, he knows he has to have her. When August finds out that she has a boyfriend and that she's a ballers girl, he knows she is off limits. But he can't help himself. He needs her. August knows basketball won't last forever but love will. But winning her heart will be anything but easy. It will be the hardest game he's played yet.

When I sit and think about this story...I just want to sit and cry. And smile. This story is everything and more. So much more. Though this story does deal with some things that may be hard to read, I found myself falling for these characters on the first page.
