Review Blitz: ROYALLY MATCHED by Emma Chase
Title: ROYALLY MATCHED
Author: Emma Chase
Release Date: Feb 21, 2017
Some men are born responsible, some men have responsibility thrust upon them. Henry Charles Albert Edgar Pembrook, Prince of Wessco, just got the motherlode of all responsibility dumped in his regal lap.
He’s not handling it well.
Hoping to force her grandson to rise to the occasion, Queen Lenora goes on a much-needed safari holiday—and when the Queen’s away, the Prince will play. After a chance meeting with an American television producer, Henry finally makes a decision all on his own:
Welcome to Matched: Royal Edition.
A reality TV dating game show featuring twenty of the world's most beautiful blue bloods gathered in the same castle. Only one will win the diamond tiara, only one will capture the handsome prince’s heart.
While Henry revels in the sexy, raunchy antics of the contestants as they fight, literally, for his affection, it’s the quiet, bespectacled girl in the corner—with the voice of an angel and a body that would tempt a saint—who catches his eye.
The more Henry gets to know Sarah Mirabelle Zinnia Von Titebottum, the more enamored he becomes of her simple beauty, her strength, her kind spirit…and her naughty sense of humor.
But Rome wasn’t built in a day—and irresponsible royals aren’t reformed overnight.
As he endeavors to right his wrongs, old words take on whole new meanings for the dashing Prince. Words like, Duty, Honor and most of all—Love.

“There are meetings
in books that stand out, that alter the course of the story. Profound
encounters between characters when one soul seems to say to the other, ‘There you are – I’ve been looking for
you’”
I have been looking forward to ROYALLY
MATCHED and Henry’s story since his character was introduced in Royally Screwed. Henry feels like such a broken boy and I couldn’t wait to
see how he would grow and change. The future of his country has suddenly been
dumped on his shoulders. A burden he never expected to bear. Being king was
always supposed to be Nicholas’ job. He had been prepped for it since
childhood. Taught the ins and outs of what is proper for a king. Now Henry must
learn how to do what’s right.
“I’m shit at
politicking and golfing, terrible at wise decision making or doing what I’m
told, but what I’ve always been good at is entertaining. Putting on a show.
Making people happy. I’m the life of the party and one hell of a host.”
In pure Henry form he decides that best
way to find his queen is to host a reality television show at his castle. Welcome to
Matched: Royal Edition! When I first saw that this book would basically be a version on
The Bachelor, I expected the same kind of story I would get while watching a
season of the show. This was NOT what I got in reading ROYALLY MATCHED and in
the best way possible. Henry is doing this all for show. To kill time and maybe
have a good time *wink wink, nudge
nudge*, while he tries to figure out what his new future will be. Henry is witty,
sarcastic, and oh so swoony! The kind of man I would love to spend my days (and
nights) with.
“I’m comfortable
with people I know – I can be sociable, even funny with them. It’s the new ones
and unpredictable situations that tie me up in knots.”
Only the elite are invited to participate
in the Royal reality TV show. When the Von Titebottum family is approached, Sarah finds the idea
completely ridiculous. When she learns it can get her out of a work
obligation that’s had her stomach in knots, she jumps at the chance to go, but
only to supervise her rambunctious sister. Their mother agrees to let them go,
only because Sarah will be there to keep Penelope in check. I immediately
connected to Sarah. She IS me, I am her. We enjoy and fear the same things. Sarah
is quiet, shy and would rather spend her days with her nose in a book than in
the limelight. Henry slowly works his way into her life and into her heart. But
will her feelings for him be enough to overshadow the scrutiny that comes when
you’re involved with a soon to be king? And will she be able to tame his
scandalous ways? Can they both overcome the challenges that await? You’ll
have to read to find out.
“What a strange
pair we are. The sad boy and the frightened girl.”
“Ever so slowly,
Willard smiles. ‘There’s hope for you yet’”
This book had me hooked from the very
first page. Seriously! I couldn’t put it down. Henry and Sarah’s story
completely captivated me. Flipping page after page, dying to know what would
happen next. I was pleasantly surprised to find this book wasn’t what I had
expected it to be. Though there were TONS of humorous moments, I feel like ROYALLY
MATCHED had may more serious scenes than any of Emma’s other books. Can I start
a reread now? So if you’re a fan of a sexy romantic comedies with a HEA and a
swoon worthy prince, what are you waiting for? Grab your copy today!
“Because
sometimes, life is very much like a book – we don’t get to write our own
ending; we have to accept the one that’s already on the page.”
